Can't Buy Me Love

Setelah Jeung Ai, dan Kak Iin akhirnya gw juga ngebahas soal The Beatles. Bermula ketika Minggu kemaren gw siaran ngebawain program yg  membahas tentang perjalanan karir The Betles plus selama dua jam penuh 'kuping gw panas' karena mau gak mau harus muter dan denger lagu2nya The Beatles ;)

Walo awalnya rada2 sebel secara gw bukan Beatlemania tapi lama-lama enjoy juga. Karena ternyata The Beatles asyik, setidaknya bagi kuping gw yang terbiasa dengan lagu2 kini, bukan lagu jadul semacam The Beatles.

Namun ada beberapa lagu yang lumayan familiar di kuping gw, kaya' Let It Be, Yesterday, I Want to hold Your Hand, Can't buy me love, dan Ob-La-Di Ob-La-Da. Selebihnya gw cuma bisa melongo mendenger lagu yang sangat asing. The Ballad of John and Yoko, Nowhere Man, Please Mr. Postman, Please please Me, Help!, Love Me Do, P.S. I Love You, Yellow Submarine, Mr. Moonlight, Baby It's You dan entah apalagi..Pffhhh..#*&%3#*/!1???;;*%

Fakta :

ternyata hampir keseluruhan lagu2 The Beatles durasinya pendek bgt, dua menit-an gitu, malah ada yg ga sampai dua menit, dua setengah menit-an dan cuma beberapa yg nyampe tiga menit..Tapi selama siaran dua jam kemaren, Lagu The Beatles yang berjudul "Hey, Jude" adalah lagunya yang berdurasi paling lama yaitu lebih dari enam menit!

Pendapat pribadi :

Bagi Beatlemania, The Beatles adalah legenda dari dulu sampai sekarang lagu2nya selalu dikenang, diputar ulang, bahkan setelah empat puluh tahun lebih-pun mereka tetap terkenal! Tapi gw ga tau istimewanya dimana..memang lagu2nya ada beberapa yang gw suka tapi itu tidak cukup membuat gw sampai fanatik atau terobsesi membunuh salah satu personilnya (Ingat John Lenon yg tewas di tangan fans-nya sendiri) :))

Ini Salah satu lagu The Beatles yang gw suka. Beatnya riang dan bikin gw bersenandung sendiri sambil ngetuk2 jari di meja ;)

TROUGH THE FIRE

Pernah denger Chaka Khan? David Foster deh..Hmm..mungkin bikin kening berkerut secara nama-nama itu dah jadul banget alias emang ga terlalu familiar di kuping anak muda seumuran kita2:)

Tapi kalo Kanye West, bagi pecinta musik Hip Hop, Rap or R&B mungkin udah ga asing lagi. Tapi ketiga nama tsb ada hubungannya kalo udah ngomongin soal lagu 'Trough The Fire'.

Lagu ini dibikin oleh David Foster dan dibawain oleh Chaka Khan penyanyi kulit hitam asal Amerika pada taon 1984. Dan setelah search di wikipedia tau ga seh..ni ibuk kelahiran taon 1953 hehehehe..lebih tua dua taon dari bokap gw;) saking hebatnya lagu ini pernah bertengger di posisi puncak selama beberapa minggu di Billboard Top 100.

Chaka Khan boleh berbangga hati karena 20 taon kemudian, tepatnya taon 2004 Kanye West merilis ulang lagu ini dg judul Trough The Wire..tentu saja dengan sentuhan agak berbeda, ada Rhytm, Rap dan Hip hop-nya juga tapi pas reff. masih terdengar suara Chaka Khan sayup2 sampai hehehe:) tapi keren kok! Kaya' lintas antar generasi gitu (halah..istilah gw)

Dan, gw mulai curiga selera musik gw berubah..entah kenapa sekarang ini gw cinta lagu jadul bgt! Tapi emang lagu jadul itu abadi sepanjang masa..buktinya walo udah belasan atau puluhan taon kemudian tetep di minati oleh pendengar musik dari berragam usia.. kaya lagu Trough the Fire ini misalnya dan ratusan lagu2 jadul lainnya yg di rilis ulang ama pendatang baru dan langsung meledak di pasaran.. Kaya' Mas Que Nada-nya Sergio Mendez dibawain lagi ama Black Eyed Peas, Kissing a Fool'nya George Michael dibawain lagi ama M. Bubble, Dyer Maker-nya Led Zeppelin dibawain lagi ama Sheryl Crow, truss juga Solitare-nya Cerpenters dibawain Clay Aiken, dan masih banyak lagi ga bisa disebutin semua..karena pengetahuan musik gw-pun jg terbatas ;P

O, ya suka ama lagu ini ato mungkin ada yg belum denger? Versi asli (ballads) Chaka Khan ato versi R&B Kanye West sama asyiknya kok.. neh gw kasih liriknya, tapi sayang sekali ga bisa down load lagu ini ke blog secara..daku rada gaptek juga hihihi:)

'Mas Que Nada'

Beberapa waktu lalu, tanpa sengaja memencet channel Fashion TV di sebuah kamar hotel. Hentakan musik riang mengiringi langkah gemulai para model papan atas dunia itu di atas catwalk. Tapi ada yang menarik selain dari body keren sang model dengan rancangan para desainer kondang dunia yg elegan itu yakni musik yg mengiringi setiap langkah sang model.

Hmm..rasanya familiar sekali di kuping gw..jadi b'pikir keras ini lagunya siapa yah?!

Hahahaha..kurang kerjaan deh! Kejadiannya udah lumayan lama sih dan setelahnya gw-pun akhirnya tau musik pengiring sang model itu. Dan hari ini iseng browsing dan nemu liriknya. Aneh dan lucu aja.

Tapi swear deh menurut gw lagunya keren bgt! Buktinya walo lagu ini pernah hits di era 80-an dan udah dibawain oleh artis lain kaya' George Benson dg berragam versi, setahun yg lalu Will I am dari Black Eyed Peas yg sangat mengagumi Sergio Mendez sang raja "Mas Que Nada" ini berhasil mengolahnya menjadi lebih fresh!

Nah, saya sangat setuju dengan kalimat ini:

Ketika mendengar pertama kali Mas Que Nada versi baru, terasa ada kekuatan baru yang lebih segar yang mungkin mewakili berhasil atau tidaknya album terbaru Sergio mendez ini. Bagaimana tidak? Kalau dua generasi akan mewakili lewat lagu ini, jika anda berumur dewasa pasti akan suka, dan kalau anda berusia remaja yang tidak mengenal lagu ini sebelumnya, kemungkinan juga akan menyukai lagu ini.
